Thank you for your interest in become a Substitute teacher with the Carteret County Public School system. We appreciate your willingness to serve the children of our county. Substitutes are a vital and valued part of our school system. They serve to ensure the continuity of instruction and safety in our schools.
To be a Substitute teacher in our school system, you must have either the Effective Teacher Training certification (E.T.T. - 24 hours) or have a teaching degree.
Prior to subbing, one must attend a substitute orientation. Substitute orientations are held twice a year. Typically one in the first semester and one in the second semester. Please continue to monitor our website for the date of the next substitute orientation.
Listed below are the forms for all new substitutes. Forms are to be submitted at the substitute orientation. A copy of a valid driver's license and another form of identification such as social security card, birth certificate, or passport are required.
Forms should be submitted once all requirements have been met (E.T.T. or teaching degree and attendance to the substitute orientation) and submitted in their entirety.
